Fried Apple Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. dried apples
    sugar to taste
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. self-rising flour
    5 Tbsp. cold water
    hot oil for frying pies
Preparation
    Reconstitute apples according to package directions.
    Cut shortening into flour.
    Add cold water.
    Roll into 5-inch circles. Put 1 tablespoon of apple mixture in center of circle.
    Fold ends together and crimp around edges.
    Cover bottom of frying pan with oil and fry pies on low heat until golden brown.
    Drain on paper towel.
    Sprinkle with sugar, if desired.
