Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. boneless chuck roast
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 envelope onion soup mix
    1 can mushroom soup
    2 c. water
    4 medium potatoes, cubed
    4 carrots, sliced
Preparation
    In a pan, brown the roast in shortening on both sides, then put in a pot.
    Add 2 cups water to the onion soup and pour over the roast with the mushroom soup.
    Cook 1 1/2 hours or until almost tender, then add carrots and potatoes and cook until done.
