Hearty Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 Tbsp. butter
1 large onion, chopped
1 small clove garlic
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 diced medium turnip
2 medium diced potatoes
1 large tomato, chopped
1 c. chopped cabbage
1 (16 oz.) pkg. frozen vegetables
1 (10 oz.) box frozen okra
1 can beef broth
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 c. cooked macaroni
1/2 c. cooked rice
Preparation

In large iron skillet, melt butter and saute onion, garlic, celery, turnip, potatoes, tomato and cabbage.
Add salt, pepper and parsley to taste.
To sauteed ingredients, add frozen vegetables.
Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
Add frozen okra and cook another 6 to 8 minutes.
Pour beef broth into large soup pot along with tomato sauce.
Heat and add vegetable mixture.
Add sugar and simmer for 1 hour.
Add macaroni or rice and simmer 30 minutes.
