Waffles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sifted flour
    6 tsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    4 eggs, separated
    2 1/2 c. milk
    12 Tbsp. melted shortening
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients.
    Beat egg whites and set aside.
    Beat yolks; add milk and dry ingredients and beat with mixer until smooth.
    Add melted shortening.
    Fold in beaten egg whites.
    Cook in waffle iron or on griddle.
