Katie Mae Oates' Hot Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. water
    4 Tbsp. Crisco
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. yeast, dissolved in warm water
    1/2 c. warm water
    1 egg, well beaten
    2 c. flour
    flour (as needed)
Preparation
    Scald milk and water.
    Mix Crisco, sugar and salt in a bowl. Add scalded mixture.
    Cool.
    Add yeast, warm water and egg.
    Stir in flour and beat well.
    Add enough flour to make soft dough. Place in a greased bowl and allow to rise for 2 hours.
    Work and roll out.
    Cut with biscuit cutter.
    Fold each roll and place on a greased pan.
    Allow to rise for 2 hours.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until browned.
