Applets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. plain gelatin, dissolved in 1/2 c. applesauce
    3/4 c. cold applesauce
    2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
    powdered sugar
Preparation
    Soak gelatin in applesauce for 10 minutes. Combine remaining applesauce and sugar, then boil for 10 minutes.
    Add gelatin mixture and boil 15 minutes longer, stirring constantly. Take off heat. Add vanilla and nuts.
    Pour into buttered 8 x 8-inch pan. Let stand overnight.
    Cut into squares. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
