Lemon Rounds - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 tsp. grated lemon rind
    1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    1 Tbsp. lemon juice
Preparation
    Measure flour, soda and salt and sift.
    Cream shortening with sugar until fluffy.
    Beat in egg, lemon juice, rind and pecans. Sift in flour mixture, blending well.
    Shape into 2 long rolls; wrap in wax paper and chill overnight.
    Slice dough 1/4-inch thick. Place on cookie sheet.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 minutes or until golden brown around edges.
    Place on wire racks.
    Cool completely.
