Apricot Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg yolk
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1 c. coconut
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (16 oz.) jar apricot preserves
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add flour, coconut, egg yolk, nuts and vanilla.
    Blend well.
    Spread 3/4 of mixture on large shallow pan (jelly roll pan, 11 x 16-inch or larger).
    Bake 15 minutes at 350\u00b0. Take out of oven and spread with apricot preserves.
    Sprinkle remaining mixture to which 1/4 cup flour has been added (consistency of streusel).
    Bake 15 minutes more at 350\u00b0.
    Cut into squares while warm.
