Ingredients

1/2 c. milk
1/4 c. butter or margarine
2 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
1 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. granulated sugar
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg, beaten
Preparation

In a small saucepan, slowly heat milk and butter.
Do not boil.
Remove from heat.
Add chocolate, broken into pieces. Stir until chocolate melts.
In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking soda.
Stir in chocolate mixture until blended.
Stir in sour cream and vanilla until blended.
Stir in egg.
Pour into greased and floured 8-inch cake pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes.
Remove cake from pan.
Cool completely on rack.
Frost top and sides with Chocolate Sour Cream Frosting.
