Mom'S White Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. milk
1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. hot water
2 cakes fresh or dry yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
about 5 1/2 c. flour
Preparation

Scald milk.
Pour into bowl, add sugar, salt, shortening and hot water.
Stir until shortening is melted.
Cool to lukewarm, add yeast which has been crumbled into 1/4 cup lukewarm water and stirred until softened.
