Spanish Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. round steak
    1 medium onion
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1 (16 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
    1 can mushrooms
    1 tsp. chili powder or to taste
    1 tsp. garlic powder
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 or 2 bay leaves
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Brown steak in vegetable oil; simmer in a little water until it starts to get tender.
    Add tomatoes, onion, chili powder, garlic, oregano and bay leaves.
    Cook until it is done; add mushrooms.
    This can be eaten on cooked rice or wide noodles.
