Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head lettuce
    1 c. celery, chopped
    1 c. green pepper
    1 can bacon bits
    1 c. onion
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
    1 c. green peas, drained
Preparation
    Arrange in layers.
    Put bacon bits on when ready to serve. Let salad set for 4 hours before serving.
