Old Fashioned Cabbage Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. ground lean beef
    1/2 lb. ground veal
    1/2 lb. ground pork
    1 egg
    1/2 c. milk
    1/2 c. fine dry bread crumbs
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. molasses
    1/4 tsp. ground ginger
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. allspice
    1 small onion, chopped fine
    1 large head green cabbage
    1/2 c. boiling water
    1/4 c. butter or oleo
    1/2 c. milk (approximately)
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    Blend meats, egg, milk and bread crumbs.
    Stir in salt, molasses, spices and onion.
    Mix well.
    Cut out core of cabbage. Separate outer 12 leaves.
    Remove thick vein of each leaf.
    Drop leaves in boiling water.
    Cover; steam 3 minutes or until soft and bright green.
    Remove with slotted spoon and reserve liquid. Place meat on leaves.
    Fold sides in and roll up.
    Fasten with a wooden pick.
    Heat butter and brown rolls on all sides.
    Transfer to a 3-quart casserole. Mix reserved water from boiling leave with butter and drippings.
    Pour over filled rolls.
