Elm Cottage Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 large egg
    2 3/4 c. all-purpose unbleached flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Cream butter.
    Add egg.
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add flour mixture to the butter and sugar mixture, half at a time, beating constantly.
    Alternating with 1 cup of milk, beat in vanilla.
    Bake for 25 minutes in a greased 10-inch square baking pan.
    Serve warm from pan.
