Date Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, cut up (1 c.)
    1/4 c. butter
    1 egg
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. Rice Krispies
    1/2 c. nuts
    coconut
Preparation
    Cook dates, egg and brown sugar over moderate heat for 5 minutes.
    Stir constantly until mixture thickens.
    Remove from heat and stir until cool, about 5 minutes.
    Stir in Rice Krispies and nuts.
    With buttered hands roll teaspoonfuls into balls.
    Roll in coconut.
