Cake Donuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 Tbsp. shortening
2/3 c. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2/3 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar, egg and vanilla; stir in milk.
Mix flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg and add to first mixture. Add enough additional flour to make dough stiff enough to roll out on floured board to 1/4-inch thick.
Cut with donut cutter and fry in deep fat until brown.
Drain and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon mixed or powdered sugar.
