Brownie Alaska - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    fudge brownie mix
    1/2 gal. favorite ice cream
    4 egg whites
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/3 c. sugar
Preparation
    Prepare brownies according to package in a 13 x 9 pan. Let cool. Slice ice cream in 4 x 4 x 1/4-inch thick squares. Place ice cream over brownies. In a small mixing bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar until soft peaks form, then add sugar. Mix until mixture is stiff. Spread mixture over ice cream. Serve immediately or freeze until ready to eat.
