Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1 box dates, chopped
    1 Tbsp. butter
    4 c. nuts
Preparation
    Combine sugar, milk and dates in a large saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it forms a soft ball stage.
    Remove from heat; stir in butter and pecans.
    Divide mixture in half. Place in a damp cup towel and roll each half into small logs.
    Let cool.
    Unwrap and slice.
