Plantation Pralines - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. white sugar
2 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. pecans
Preparation

Combine sugars, cream of tartar, salt and milk.
Stir over low heat until sugar dissolves.
Cook to 235\u00b0 to 238\u00b0, approximately 12 minutes.
Add butter, extract and pecans.
Beat until creamy. Drop from large spoon onto buttered surface or waxed paper.
Makes 1 1/2 to 2 dozen pralines.
