Cornstarch Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. milk
    7/8 c. sugar (keep 1/8 c. out for egg whites)
    4 eggs
    2 heaping Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Dissolve cornstarch in a little of the milk.
    Separate eggs. Beat yolks.
    Add 1/2 cup milk and beat.
    Heat milk to scalding. Add sugar.
    Add eggs to cornstarch.
    Add eggs and cornstarch mixture to hot milk, stirring constantly.
    Take off fire and add vanilla.
