Christmas Wine (Glogg) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 liter vodka or Aquavit
    1 liter red wine
    1 cardamon seed
    5 cloves (whole)
    3 pieces orange peel
    1 c. raisins
    1/2 c. slivered almonds
    4 cinnamon sticks
    1 c. Karo dark syrup
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Heat seed, cloves, orange peel, raisins, almonds and cinnamon sticks until soft.
    Add vodka and wine.
    Heat until almost boiling.
    Light a match over mixture and burn off excess alcohol for 5 to 10 seconds.
    Add syrup to taste.
    Let sit for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
    Bottle in glass for 2 to 3 days.
    Include all ingredients when bottling.
    Serve warm with cinnamon stick.
