Ingredients

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
2 pkg. yeast
2 c. lukewarm water
2 eggs
6 c. flour
2 tsp. salt
melted shortening
Preparation

Cream sugar and Crisco.
Dissolve yeast in 2 cups lukewarm water.
Add to sugar mixture with eggs.
Add flour and salt. Knead the dough, then set in warm place until doubled in bulk. Roll it thin and cut out doughnuts.
Dip in melted shortening and place on wax paper to rise for about an hour or more.
Fry in deep fat for 30 or 40 seconds on each side.
Dip in milk and confectioners sugar glaze while hot.
