Sour Cream Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening (I use Crisco butter flavored)
1 c. sugar
1 1/4 c. honey
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped raisins or dates
1/2 c. sour cream
3 c. oatmeal (Quaker Quick)

Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and honey.
Add eggs and beat until fluffy.
Stir flour, spices and soda together.
Add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream.
Add oatmeal and mix well. Add raisins or dates and 1 cup chopped nuts if desired.
Drop from teaspoon on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake in 375\u00b0 oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 4 to 6 dozen, depending on size you like. Store in airtight container and they will stay chewy.
