Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. beef stew or round steak
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
    1 small pkg. egg noodles
Preparation
    Salt, pepper, & flour meat.
    Brown in small amount of shortening.
    Add onions & cook until soft; then add 3 or 4 cups water & cook until tender.
    Add soup & cook 5 minutes longer.
    Add sour cream.
    Cook noodles & drain.
    Then pour into meat mixture.
