Grandma'S Sweet Dill Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 gal. unsliced dill or sour pickles
4 lb. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. allspice
Preparation

Drain pickles, saving liquid. Bring 2 cups pickle juice to a boil with cinnamon and allspice. Let cool. Pour over pickles in jar. Cover loosely and allow to set for 4 days. Shake jar occasionally to mix. Pour off liquid and dry out inside of jar (do not wash). Dry off each pickle with paper towels. Slice into 1/4-inch slices. Layer in jar with sugar, alternating pickles and sugar. Cover loosely and allow to sit for 2 days to let sugar melt.
