Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or margarine
    4 eggs
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Bring butter or margarine and eggs to room temperature.
    Grease and flour a 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Stir together flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
    In a large mixer bowl, beat the butter or margarine on medium speed of electric mixer about 30 seconds.
    Gradually add sugar, beating 6 minutes or until fluffy.
    Add vanilla.
    Add the eggs, one at a time, beating 1 minute after each; scrape bowl frequently. Gradually add dry ingredients to egg mixture, beating on low speed just until thoroughly combined.
    Turn batter into pan.
    Bake in a 325\u00b0 oven for 55 to 65 minutes or until done.
    Cool 15 minutes on a wire rack.
    Remove from pan.
    Cool.
    Makes 12 servings.
