Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. butter
    margarine (to butter pan)
    2 c. sugar
    6 Tbsp. water
    2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Melt butter over low heat.
    Stir in sugar; stir until butter and sugar are not separated any more.
    Blend in nuts, water and syrup.
    Place candy thermometer in mixture and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it reaches 300\u00b0.
    Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
    Pour onto well buttered pan and let cool.
    You can melt chocolate and spread over top.
    Break into pieces and enjoy!
