Good Neighbor Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 envelope dry milk (to make 1 qt.)
    3 1/2 c. warm water
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/4 c. sugar
    2 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    2 Tbsp. salt
    about 12 c. flour
Preparation
    Dissolve dry milk in 3 1/2 cups warm water; stir in shortening, sugar and salt.
    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water; add to milk mixture.
    Add 6 cups flour to make smooth batter.
    Add 6 more cups.
    Knead well on floured board.
    Place in greased bowl. Let rise 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
    Punch down; let rise 1/2 hour.
    Shape into 4 loaves.
    Cover; let rise for 45 minutes, until light.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
