Best Split Pea Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. green split peas
10 c. water
1 bay leaf
2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 c. onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 c. chopped celery
1 thinly sliced potato
2 c. sliced carrots
1/4 c. red wine
1/4 tsp. mustard
1/4 tsp. thyme
a few drops sesame oil
1/4 c. chopped parsley
3 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation

Cook peas, water, bay leaf and salt for 3 to 4 hours. Saute in olive oil, onions, garlic, celery, potato and carrots and add to mix. Fifteen minutes before serving, add wine, mustard, thyme and sesame oil. Just before serving, add parsley and vinegar.
