Scalloped Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 1/2 c. milk
    6 medium potatoes, sliced thin
    2 Tbsp. chopped onion
    2 slices American cheese
Preparation
    In a large bowl, make a white sauce with the first 5 ingredients.
    In a greased 2-quart casserole, place half of the sliced potatoes, half of the onion and half of the white sauce. Repeat the layers.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
    Uncover and bake 30 minutes longer with American cheese, if desired. Serves 4 to 6.
