Biscuits Supreme - cooking recipe

2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
Preparation

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar and sugar.
Cut in shortening until like coarse crumbs.
Make a well; add 2/3 cup milk all at once.
Stir quickly with fork just until dough follows fork around bowl.
Turn onto lightly floured surface. Knead gently 10 to 12 strokes.
Roll or pat dough 1/2-inch thick. Dip 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter in flour.
Cut dough straight down. Bake at 450\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
