Greek Easter Cookies - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
1/3 c. granulated sugar
2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. brandy flavoring (if desired)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. Gold Medal flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cloves
confectioners sugar
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0 (moderate).
Mix the first 5 ingredients together thoroughly.
Measure flour by dipping method (or by sifting).
Blend flour, baking powder and cloves; stir into butter mixture and mix well.
Shape dough in small balls, about 3/4-inch in diameter, or in cylindrical shapes, formed in 2-inch long half moons.
Place cookies on lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes, or until cookies are set, but not browned.
Let stand 2 minutes before removing from baking sheet.
When cool, dust with confectioners sugar.
(For a more authentic Greek cookie, omit ground cloves and place a whole clove in center of
each cookie before baking.)
Makes 8 dozen cookies.
