Oatmeal Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 c. quick cooking oatmeal
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
    Grease 12 muffin cups.
    Beat egg and stir in buttermilk, brown sugar and shortening.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Stir until flour is dampened.
    Batter will not be smooth.
    Fill muffin cups 2/3 full.
    Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until light brown.
