June'S Vegetable Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. American cheese, grated
    1 stick margarine, melted
    2 cans asparagus (chopped or whole), drained
    1 can peas, drained
    1 can mushroom soup
    1 can water chestnuts, drained and sliced
    4 slices bread with crusts trimmed off, cut into 4 strips (makes 16 strips)
