Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 pt. water
    30 to 40 medium cucumbers, cut in half lengthwise
    green or dry dill
    1/2 c. salt
    3 Tbsp. pickling spices
    1 qt. vinegar
Preparation
    Combine sugar, salt, vinegar and water.
    Tie spices in cheesecloth bag; add to vinegar mixture.
    Simmer 15 minutes. Liquid brine will make about 5 quarts.
