Smothered Round Country Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    salt to taste plus 1/4 tsp.
    pepper to taste plus 1/4 tsp.
    flour to coat plus 1 Tbsp.
    2 lb. round steak, cut into 1 x 4-inch strips
    oil
    2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Salt, pepper and coat steak in flour.
    Brown quickly in hot deep fat, turning often to prevent scorching.
    Place steak in large baking dish.
    Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of flour on hot steak with 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
    Pour water over steak.
    Cover tightly with foil.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 45 minutes.
    Yields 6 servings.
