Homemade Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    5 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. sifted plain flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Melt shortening and cocoa together.
    Blend sugar, egg and stir into melted chocolate mixture. Beat in dry ingredients.
    Stir in nuts and vanilla.
    Pour batter into 9-inch square pan which has been coated with shortening.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Cut into squares while warm.
