Italian Coconut Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    5 eggs, separated
    2 c. sugar
    1 stick butter or oleo
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 (4 oz.) can coconut
    1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
    1 stick butter or oleo
    1 (1 lb.) box confectioners sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/3 to 1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Beat cream cheese, oleo/butter, sugar and vanilla until well mixed.
    Add nuts.
    Spread on cooled cake.
