Taste Treat Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
    1/2 lb. pan-fry sausage
    2 c. chopped onion
    3 cloves fresh garlic, minced (3 tsp. dry)
    2 (14 1/2 oz.) cans chicken broth
    3 medium apples, chopped, peeling on (green, yellow or red)
    2 sweet bell peppers, chopped
    2 (4 1/2 oz.) cans diced green chile peppers
    3 Tbsp. chili powder
    2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
    1 Tbsp. curry powder
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 (15 oz.) can red kidney beans (or two if you like lots of beans in your chili)
    2/3 c. slivered almond
Preparation
    Brown the beef and sausage in large dutch oven; add onions and garlic, stirring for about 1 minute.
    Drain.
    Stir in remaining ingredients, except for the kidney beans, slivered almonds and toppings.
    Bring to boil; reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour.
    Add kidney beans and almonds, heat through. Serve hot with corn chips, Nacho chips, crackers or cornbread and your favorite toppings.
