Self-Filled Cupcakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1/2 c. white sugar
    1 egg
    1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 (18.5 oz.) pkg. chocolate cake mix
Preparation
    Prepare chocolate cake mix according to package directions for cupcakes.
    In a separate bowl, cream together the cream cheese and sugar.
    Into this mixture, beat in the egg, then stir in chocolate chips.
    Line cupcake tins with cupcake liners and fill 2/3 full with chocolate cake batter.
    Add 1 teaspoon of cream cheese mixture to the center; top with more cake mix.
    Bake according to directions for cupcakes.
    Cool and frost with chocolate or cream cheese frosting.
    Makes 1 dozen.
