Skillet Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. flour
    3/4 c. corn meal
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. sugar
    lard (for frying)
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients (except corn meal). Add corn meal and gradually beat buttermilk into mixture. Batter will be stiff. Melt lard in frying pan. When smoking hot, drop in batter by spoonful and cook 3 minutes on each side.
