Layered Vegetable Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce
    1 c. celery, diced
    4 hard-boiled eggs, diced
    1 can English peas
    1/2 c. green pepper, diced
    1 medium onion, diced
    8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    2 c. mayonnaise
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, grated
Preparation
    Layer ingredients as listed: lettuce, celery, eggs, peas, green pepper, onion and bacon.
    Mix sugar with mayonnaise; put over other ingredients. Sprinkle cheese over mayonnaise; let set in refrigerator overnight.
