Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and beat well.
Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla.
Mix thoroughly.
Roll 1/8-inch thick on lightly floured surface with floured cookie cutter.
Bake at 350\u00b0 on greased cookie sheet until they spring back (do not overbake).
Frost and decorate.
Makes 4 dozen.
