Pat'S Cottage Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. soft shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 egg
    3/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan. Measure flour by dip-level-pour method and by sifting.
    Stir flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. Add remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth. Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
    Serve warm, cut in 3-inch squares, with hot vanilla, lemon or nutmeg sauce.
