Cream Of Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 qt. water or chicken broth (6 c.)
10 oz. pkg. frozen chopped broccoli
3/4 c. finely chopped onion
1 tsp. monosodium glutamate
1 tsp. white pepper
1 tsp. garlic powder
8 oz. American cheese, shredded (2 c.)
1 c. milk
1 c. cream (half and half)
1/4 c. butter
1/3 c. flour
1/2 c. cold water
Preparation

In a 3-quart saucepan, bring water or broth to a boil.
Add broccoli and onion.
Boil 10 to 15 minutes.
Add seasonings and cheese.
Stir until cheese melts.
Add milk, cream and butter. Stir and heat to boiling.
Slowly add cold water to flour, stirring until mixture is smooth.
Slowly add to soup mixture, stirring rapidly.
Cook and stir until soup is thickened.
Makes 8 to 10 servings.
