Quiche Lorraine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell, chilled
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 large onion, sliced
    12 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
    4 eggs
    2 c. light cream or canned milk
    3/4 tsp. salt
    pinch of nutmeg
    pinch of cayenne pepper
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 c. grated Swiss and/or Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter until soft, but not brown.
    Combine eggs, cream, salt, nutmeg, cayenne and pepper.
    Beat with rotary beater until well mixed.
    Sprinkle pie shell with crumbled bacon; cover with cheese.
    Pour in egg mixture carefully.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 300\u00b0 and bake 40 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
