Mint Wafers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. milk
    1 (15 oz.) pkg. creamy white frosting mix
    6 to 8 drops oil of peppermint
    1 or 2 drops food coloring (red or green)
Preparation
    Melt butter with milk in top of double boiler placed over boiling water (upper pan should not touch water).
    Add frosting mix; stir until smooth.
    Cook and stir over rapidly boiling water for 5 minutes or until smooth and glossy.
    Add flavoring and desired food coloring. Drop from teaspoon onto waxed paper, swirling tops of candies with teaspoon.
    (If mixture thickens, add a few drops of warmed milk.)
    Cool candy until firm.
    Makes 3 1/2 to 4 dozen.
