Aunt Margaret'S Boiled Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 c. raisins
    1 Tbsp. shortening
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    pinch of salt
    1 beaten egg
    1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in a little hot water
    2 c. sifted flour
Preparation
    Boil the first 8 ingredients together for about 3 to 5 minutes. When cold, stir in the egg and baking soda mixture.
    Add the flour and bake in a greased bread pan in medium oven at 350\u00b0 until tests done. This cake is very moist and will keep for a long time.
