Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/4 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
    3/4 c. chopped green pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes, cut up
    1 (16 oz.) can dark red kidney beans, drained
    1 (8 oz.) can and 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
    4 tsp. chili powder
    1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
Preparation
    In Dutch oven, cook ground beef, onion, green pepper and garlic until meat is browned.
    Drain off fat.
    Stir in undrained tomatoes, kidney beans, tomato sauce, chili powder, basil, 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
    Bring to boiling; reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer about 20 minutes.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings. (I don't like chunks of whole tomatoes, so I put them in a blender.
    More or less chili powder according to taste.
    I let cook longer than the 20 minutes.)
