Fresh Strawberry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (9-inch) baked pie crust
    1 1/2 c. water
    3/4 c. sugar or less
    Cool Whip or heavy cream
    1 qt. fresh strawberries
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 pkg. strawberry Jell-O
Preparation
    Mix water, sugar and cornstarch.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until it comes to a boil. Boil 2 minutes longer.
    Lower heat and put in package of Jell-O.
    Stir until completely dissolved.
    Set aside to cool.
    Wash and drain strawberries and cut in halves.
    Put strawberries in pie shell. Pour mixture over strawberries. Chill. Top with Cool Whip or whipped cream.
    (Pie can be made the day before, then topped with cream before serving.)
